Vit. B-12 deficiency can cause a lack of energy, sleep problems, depression and pernicious anemia. Diet, age and drugs are the main causes for B-12 deficiency. B-12 is found primarily in meat. So, strict vegetarians are at risk for deficiency.

As we age, our bodies lack the hydrochloric acid in our stomachs to utilize the B-12 that we do consume in the form of food. Therefore, we can easily become deficient.

One very important aspect of B-12 is that along with B-6 and Folate, the trio lowers homocysteine levels in the body. Homocysteine is a very dangerous by-product of methylation (a naturally occuring process in the body).

Rich and I take 2000mcgs. of sublingual (under the tongue) Vit. B-12
every day in combination with 200 mgs. B-6 and 800 mcgs. Folic Acid.

By taking the sublingual form of B-12, the nutrient is absorbed through the lining of the skin and into the blood stream.
